Dancing in the Dark

Leather jacket, thrifted for costume

stubble beard, yarn & spirit gum

A while back I asked people to vote on my Halloween costume after I had narrowed it down to Loretta Lynn and Bruce Springsteen. The people spoke and the Boss won. I'm glad he did, as I had a blast wearing this. Other people seemed to enjoy it, too. On Friday the gang went to karaoke at a neighborhood bar in Roscoe village, where I was hit on by a really drunk girl after I sang, "Born to Run." I was hesitant to tell her I wasn't really a dude, as Mike was refusing to kiss my beard and it was looking like I might need a backup date.  I eventually did and she left to go throw up outside. Clearly I broke her heart. Last night was equally silly, as the last photo demonstrates. The bicep beer chug conjured a "Bruuuuuuuuuce" cheer from onlookers, which solidified Bruce Springteen as the #1 costume in Lora's Halloween Hall of Fame. I think I'll send the real Mr. Springsteen a letter informing him of this very prestigious honor, though word on the street says this isn't his first time being in a hall of fame.

Mike also went as a musician. Can you guess who he is? I'll give you a hint. He's never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and desert you...

Hope you all had a great Halloween weekend!
